Fabulous Fridays: Get in the Halloween Decorating Spirit

Halloween is round the bend! Spooky spooky! What a fun time of year. I am telling you, I think starting about now is probably my favorite time of year. No more summer vacations for me, so I just uped this to my favorite time of year spot. I’m a huge fan of fun and creative décor for Halloween. A little creepy and a little creative touch around your home to honor this time of year is awesome.  I am super into the funny and spooky part of the Halloween. The sexually oppressed part where people want to express themselves one day that year, not so much. Hopefully one day, the ladies and gents will leave their Little Bo Peep delicates in the closet.J Here are a few home decorating inpspirations for your home. Enjoy!

WHalloween fun factW
So back in the day, Pagans used to burn jack-o-lanterns on Samhain to ward off evil spirits. Samhain, being on the night of the 31 of October. Not to name names, but cultures, religions plunked other holidays, such as Halloween on top of Pagan holidays to crowd out and overshadow Pagan celebrations. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas and Halloween, but come on dudes, that’s mean. Anyways, if you are interested in a little history of the jack-o-lantern, Better Homes and Gardens has a very interesting (and short) article.

Fall Colors in the Home

Fall colors. They aren’t just colors for fall decorating! I absolutely adore the rich pallet of hues. If you ask me, these rooms look fabulous through all the seasons! I think decorating with these colors in your space makes it very cozy and chic. Who wouldn’t want that? Plus, I’ve been told fall colors are my season color, so it’ll make me look prettier, right? J  Well, regardless if I’m in the room or not, these colors will make any space look pretty dreamy! Don’t you think? J Definitely don’t be shy about using color! Enjoy!

Fancy Fridays: Fall Décor Carries On

By now we are in starting to experience the fall season and those of you with actual seasons (unlike LA) are probably enjoying the crisp and fresh air. Lucky you. These natural fall accents make for a very cozy home. And if you don’t have seasons (like me) they will help get you in the mood. I believe it is very important to make your home a place you value spending time. In my opinion, it’s the little things like these, celebrating the seasons that make life that much more fun. So, a few flowers here, some candles over there and your place will be lovely Dah-ling.  As for my friends in the southern hemisphere, I’m sure you are rather excited about your springtime rolling around. Maybe these ideas will inspire you six months from now. :-)  Wherever you live, create a delightful home.  Enjoy!

Fancy Friday: Decorating for Fall

Happy Friday! Here is another Friday with a few more fall decoration ideas to make your space a little dreamier. It’s getting closer to pumpkin season, so I posted some unique inspiration photos. I’m really into the odd shaped pumpkins and the ones with flaws. Flaws give the décor that much more character! Again, I don’t care for too many decorations all over the place, just sprinkle accents around. Heavy fall decorating looks seriously cheesy. Otherwise, have fun with what fall has to offer!

Fancy Fridays: Fall Decorating Time!

You know, I absolutely love the seasons and when it comes to living in Los Angeles, I have to rely on the décor to give me any sort of season changing feeling! I’ve never been too partial to over-the-top corn husks and huge scarecrows all over the yard, but I do love simple touches here and there, sprinkled nicely around your space. I like modest changes for the fall decorations, and I particularly like decorating with nature! Get inspired!

I absolutely love Chinese Lantern bouquets in the fall. Few things are more fall!

If you've ever dreamed of making your own fall-scented potpourri balls, the Better Homes and Gardens site shows you how. These spicy scents absolutely will make you feel cozy!

I'm all for decorating with natural elements and in my humble opinion, these are the ultimate fall-style bouquets.
