Craft Space for Crafty People

When it starts getting colder in the fall season, what’s more fun than to be inside and be crafty? When I was a kid I would fall IN LOVE with friends' craft spaces. Looking through all their papers and ribbons was divine! Whether you have the space of a whole room or just a corner spot, few spaces are just as special. If you are a creative person and like making things, it’s important to make space for that. These craft spaces are super fun and colorful. Sit back and enjoy the view of these wonderful little spaces.

Photo Placement: No Excuses Not to Have Them

Probably one of the first improvements I should be knocking down in my home is a better arrangement for my photos. I have one little collage frame on my wall where I sort of shoved a few pictures, but for the most part, I stick most of my pictures on my external hard drive. And really it’s a shame, because I should be showing off my boyfriend’s cute little mug. I think the loveliest homes always have a sprinkling of photo frames. Not too many shots of one thing because too many pictures of your cat or pictures of you look a little nutty. I think an even spatter of: friends and loved ones, family, travel, pets, cityscapes, whatever elements that you enjoy in life make for a nice collection that really personalize your place. Plus frames can be cheap (I’ve even seen cute ones at the dollar store) and printing photos is cheap, so really, it should be something that you can instantly and easily do for your home. No excuses friends! J Enjoy!

What are your photo arrangements?

Pets: In Cozy Spaces

Pets are one of my most favorite things in life. Nothing like hanging out with a sweet little friend. I believe there are few things that make your place and life more cozy than the company of a pet. I have to say, these pets look like some straight up lazy bones and pretty happy about it. :-)

~Feng Shui Tip~
I've read in several books that pets bring very vibrant and positive energy to the home. That they keep the energy moving freely and keep it from being stagnant, as long as they are are loved, healthy and well taken care of.

My little pound kitties!

That said, I am by no means endorsing anyone to go out and get a pet. Wonderful, but no spontaneous investment! Enjoy!

Are you a cat or dog person? What kind of pets do you like?

Bring on the Zebra Décor

I have never been a huge follower of the zebra print—until just now. This print is all over and I am loving it!! Could another animal print ever look so good? Maybe. But not right now it can’t! I am full on loving the home decorations with the zebra and I absolutely encourage anyone to try it out in their space! Paint and faux zebra materials are definitely way better in my opinion, not the actual zebra.

Could you be a bigger rockstar?

What do you think of the zebra print? Would you give it a shot?

Designer Appreciation Day: Nate Berkus

Designer Appreciation Day is a time where I would like to highlight my favorite designers. The very first designer that I would like to honor and appreciate is Nate Berkus. Aside from his good looks, and fancy smile, the man is gifted. You can see in his work that he is clearly creative and passionate in his designs.  He believes that everyone should love the way they live and that the home is a reflection of who you are, no matter how much money you have. Aw, he has a warm heart. Something we both have in common! :)  That is what I appreciate most about his ideas. No matter what your level of wealth is, or the size of your place, you can create and decorate your own dreamy spaces. Granted, sometimes you need a little extra creativity, such as my case, but it is important to create a place you love to live. Enjoy!

Love, love, love his work! But I'm not diggin the zebra rug. The mane and shape are a little too real looking for my overactive imagination and animal lovin heart. I love a good animal print, but I'm not a fan of the stuffed heads and stripped scalps. Everything else about the room is stunning!

What do you think about these rooms? What do you think of the zebra rug?
